‘The Brave Daughters of July’ underway at Shilpakala Academy

The exhibition “The Brave Daughters of July”, (July er Bir Konya) is underway at the National Art Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital.

Jointly organised by July Revolutionary Alliance, Private University National Association of Bangladesh (PUNAB) and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, the exhibition highlights the contribution of women in the recent July-August mass movement.

The show features rare photographs, posters, video footage of the July Revolution, interviews with eyewitnesses, and memorials of martyrs. Students from various educational institutions, as well as the general public, come to see the exhibition every day.

“The Brave Daughters of July” was inaugurated on 22 February. The mother of the July movement martyr Naima Sultana inaugurated the exhibition. The event was addressed by the spokesperson of the National Citizens Committee Samantha Sharmin, the mother of martyr Naima, and women leaders.

The speakers discussed important issues related to the struggle, leadership, and future prospects of women and emphasised the need to highlight the glorious chapter of this movement to future generations.

The exhibition will be open till 7 April 11:00am to 3:30pm daily. The exhibition will be open to everyone.
