Meanwhile, illegal sand lifting from the Padma River is the decline of the river, erosion of the banks along the banks and the extinction of freshwater fish. Local cultivated land has been threatened with settlements.

Md. Aslam Pramanik said that sand is being lifted from the river every day in the light of the day and the darkness of the night. Local administration and naval police have been informed about this. But the sand lifting has not stopped till today. A written complaint was filed with the Deputy Commissioner of Rajbari on February 26.

He said that if the sand is lifted from the Padma river on a regular basis, the area will be subjected to river erosion. Hundreds of hectares of cultivable land are expected to go into the river.

According to the findings, the Manikganj Deputy Commissioner "Asian Builders" Proh Abid Hassan Biplob leased the "Lechchaganj Balu Mahal" for one year at Rs. 1 percent VAT and 5 percent income tax is 1 crore, 1 lakh, 3 thousand 5 hundred, 3 rupees. But the "Asian Builders" ignored the lease law and lifted sand from the Goaland upazila of Rajbari district. More than 200 bulkhead sand is being lifted here every day. Naval Police Super (SP) Abdullah Al Mamun of Faridpur area said that the "Lechchaganj Balu Mahal" was lifting the sand from the river with the lease of Harirampur upazila of Manikganj district. Daulatdia Naval Police is constantly patrolling the river. However, if the sand is lifted from the Padma river in Rajbari or Faridpur district, legal action will be taken. He also said that sand was being lifted from the Padma river in Rajbari district on mobile phones multiple times. But Sarejmin was not seen.
