Weapons, ammunition, crystal meth-ice worth Tk 5 cr seized in Khagrachhari

Border Guard Bangladesh 23 BGB has seized two foreign pistols, 10 rounds of bullets, and crystal meth-ice (ice) worth about Tk 5 crore in a special operation in Matiranga, Khagrachari.
These were recovered in a special operation conducted in the early hours of Tuesday based on a secret tip-off.
According to BGB sources, a special patrol team led by the commander of Jaminipara Battalion (23 BGB) set up a mobile check post at the intersection of three roads in Gaurangapara, Tabalchhari Union early in the morning.
A motorcycle coming from the direction of Panchhari at around 2:30 am was signaled to stop. The two riders slowed down the bike a little and suddenly increased their speed and tried to flee towards the Taindong area, but the patrol team chased them. After a three-kilometer chase, they lost their way and entered a dark and inaccessible clay road in the area called Birashitila.
The motorcycle was abandoned under a culvert and fled.
Later, the BGB members seized two foreign pistols with magazines hidden under the seat of the motorcycle, 10 rounds of bullets and a large quantity of crystal meth-ice. This is the first time that crystal meth-ice has been seized in this area.
The BGB said that the rescued The estimated market value of the crystal meth-ice is around five crore taka.
Jaminipara (23 BGB) Zone Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md. Khalid Ibne Hossain said that such operations of the BGB will continue to curb illegal smuggling, arms and drugs, and various crimes at the border.
