Maulana Obaidullah Salafi, Member of Parliament for Nilphamari-3 (Jaldhaka) constituency, inspected the renovation work of the Manchar Ghat Bridge and connecting road in the char area of Dauabari Union No. 2 of Jaldhaka Upazila of Nilphamari.

On Sunday noon, he visited the Manchar Ghat area and inspected the progress of the ongoing bridge and road renovation and inauguration work. During this time, he exchanged views with local residents and activists and listened to various problems and development prospects of the area. According to local sources, the Manchar Ghat bridge is 8.5 feet wide and about 360 feet long. The cost of constructing the bridge is about one crore taka. In addition, five tons of rice have been allocated under the Kabikha project for the renovation of the unpaved road of about 1,500 feet long and 18 feet wide to the east of the bridge. On the other hand, two lakh taka has been allocated under the Kabita project for the renovation of the unpaved road of about 1,800 feet long and 16 feet wide to the north of the bridge. At that time, Upazila Jamaat Amir Mokhlesur Rahman Master, Nayeb Amir and Press Club President Alhaj Kamaruzzaman, Upazila Jamaat Secretary Moammar Al-Hasan, Dauabari Union Jamaat President Maulana Aminur Rahman Secretary Shahidul Islam, Baitul Mal Secretary Khairul Islam, Union Youth Division President Golam Mustafa, Secretary Halimur Rahman, Union Workers Welfare Federation President Monayem, Union Professional Division President Idris Ali, Panel Chairman of Dauabari Union Parishad No. 2 Abu Musa Lalkha, UP member of Ward No. 3 Mashiur Rahman, former UP member of Ward No. 8 of Golmunda Union Jamiar Rahman, local leaders and activists and locals were present. During the inspection, former UP member of Ward No. 8 of Golmunda Union Jamiar Rahman said that the renovation work of Dauabari-Haldibari road is progressing with the financial support of the MP. However, due to a broken bridge in Ward No. 1 of Dauabari Union, people in the surrounding areas are suffering. In addition, the condition of the surrounding roads is also fragile. He urged the parliamentarian to pay special attention to these roads and bridges. Upazila Jamaat Amir Mokhlesur Rahman Master said that the vast areas of Dauabari, Golmunda, Shaulmari and Kaimari unions in the eastern part of Jaldhaka Upazila are river and flood-prone char areas.

He further said that the promise made during the election to stand by the people of the char areas has been implemented through work. He called for initiatives to bring more allocations for the overall development of the char areas, including the communication system, in the future in the parliament. MP Maulana Obaidullah Salafi said that it was good to see the Manchar Ghat Bridge and road renovation work on the ground.
