Verification begins : Fertilizer to be distributed according to holding under Govt guidelines in Dimla

The farmer verification process has begun in Dimla upazila of Nilphamari to identify genuine farmers and ensure that fertilizer benefits reach the intended recipients. Fertilizer cards will be issued after verifying farmers’ identities and the amount of land they cultivate.
Farmers holding valid cards will be eligible to receive fertilizer according to their landholdings, in line with the government’s fertilizer recommendation guidelines.
The verification process was conducted on Saturday morning in the Chhota Khata area of Khalisha Chapani Union under Dimla upazila.
Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer Shah Al Faruk said a farmer cultivating 50 bighas of land will receive fertilizer according to the government-prescribed amount for 50 bighas. Similarly, farmers cultivating one bigha or 10 decimals of land will receive fertilizer proportionately.
He said farmers will have to provide documents proving land ownership or cultivation, including registered deeds in their own names, field records, or mortgage-related documents. Following verification, genuine farmers will be issued fertilizer cards.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Mir Hasan Al Banna said the verification is being conducted to ensure that only genuine farmers involved in agricultural activities receive government fertilizer benefits.
He said the initiative would help farmers collect fertilizer at the government-set price according to their landholdings under the “Fertilizer Recommendation Guideline” and the Khamari App ahead of the upcoming maize cultivation season.
He urged farmers to provide accurate information and the necessary documents and cooperate with the concerned Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officers during the verification process.
