Urban Demonstrators to build eco-friendly tourism in Kadhurkhil No. 1 of Boalkhali Municipality.

A town hall meeting has been held under the project titled UD'. A discussion meeting organized by Boalkhali Municipality at 11 am on Monday at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium (Swadhinta) was held under the chairmanship of Municipal Administrator and Executive Magistrate Kaniz Fatema.

The main objective of the meeting was to examine the feasibility of formulating an outline for the overall development, environmental protection, flood management and sustainable eco-tourism development of the area along the banks of the Karnaphuli River in Kadhurkhil Union of Ward No. 1 of Boalkhali Municipality. The project will be implemented by the joint initiative of the internationally renowned organization 'THE Delft Institute For Water Education Netherlands' and 'Altec Consultant Limited(ACL)' Bangladesh, funded by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).

The chief guest was Boalkhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mehedi Hasan Faruk.
The special guests were - Urban Demonstrators (Netherlands) Project Leader Dr. William Verbeek, Urban Demonstrators (Bangladesh) Project Leader MA Sami W. Chowdhury, ACL Advisor and Project Coordinator Mirza Md. Mohiuddin. Among others present were Boalkhali Municipal Council Executive Nazrul Islam, Accountant Abu Sayeed, Assistant Engineer Mrinal Kanti Dhar, Deputy Engineer Md. Kamruzzaman, BNP leaders Haji Ishaq Chowdhury, Haji Abu Akhter, former General Secretary and President of Boalkhali Press Club Adhir Barua, Professors Shaheda Akhter, Helal Uddin Tipu of Boalkhali Sirajul Islam Degree College, Headmaster (Acting) Farak Islam, along with government officials, ward councilors, teachers, imams, representatives of various educational institutions, women representatives, political representatives and dignitaries, students.
