Two killed in truck-motorcycle collision in Dinajpur

Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a motorcycle in Dinajpur Sadar Upazila.

The accident occurred on Sunday evening in Jaliapara, Shashra Union, Sadar Upazila, on the Dinajpur-Gobindaganj regional highway.

The two people killed in the accident are Rifat Emon (22), son of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto of Nayanpur area of Dinajpur city, and Entazul Haque Sohag (28), son of Kamruzzaman Bablu of the same area.

Locals said that a speeding truck heading from Phulbari to Dinajpur collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction in the Jaliapara area of Dinajpur Highway. At that time, the motorcycle was twisted and twisted by the truck. Emon, the motorcycle driver, died on the spot in the accident. Later, locals rescued the other rider who was on the back of the motorcycle in a seriously injured condition and sent him to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital. Sohag died while undergoing treatment there.

Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Moniruzzaman said that the family members of the deceased arrived at the scene and identified the two bodies. The bodies will be handed over to the families after completing the legal process and necessary paperwork.
