The size of the advisory council of the interim government led by Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus expanded as three more advisers were sworn in on Sunday evening.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath of office to the advisers around 7:35pm at the Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban in Dhaka.
The new advisers are Sheikh Bashir Uddin, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, and Mahfuj Alam.
With the addition of three new members, the number of advisers in the interim government’s advisory council increased to 24.
Earlier, Chief Adviser Prof Yunus and 20 other advisers took oath in four phases starting on 8 August following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government in the face of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Since Hasina resigned and fled to India on 5 August, the cabinet was dissolved on the day.
President Shahabuddin dissolved the 12th Jatiya Sangsad the next day.
