Teacher holds press conference protesting false news in Sreepur

Salma Begum, an assistant teacher at Tengra Government Primary School in Sreepur Upazila of Gazipur, has held a press conference protesting a recently published news item at 4 pm on Monday.
Salma Begum read out the written statement at a press conference held at her residence in Tengra.
She stated that on April 30 and May 10, several national dailies and media outlets published a report titled "Head Teacher Absent for Eight Months, Education Disrupted." The report mentioned her name and school and alleged that the head teacher had embezzled Tk 217,000 from the school fund. She strongly denied these allegations, calling them baseless and misleading.
In her written statement, Salma Begum said, "The claims made in that report are entirely false and malicious. I did not give any such statement, I have no knowledge of the matter, and I am in no way involved."
She further said, the report has damaged her reputation and could spread confusion in society. She urged the concerned journalists and media outlets to act responsibly and publish accurate, fact-based news.
