Students pledge to prevent drugs, child marriage, internet addiction

Students took an oath to fight drugs, juvenile crime, and control internet games in Sreemangal, Moulvibazar on Thursday.
 
 A discussion and oath-taking session on safe internet, awareness and social responsibility was held at the auditorium of Srimangal Victoria High School in Moulvibazar at  the initiative of voluntary organization Lal-Sabuj Unnayan Sangha. 
 
Later, students showed red cards to drugs, juvenile crime and child marriage. The event  was presided over by the school's headmaster Ayan Chowdhury, while Srimangal Police Inspector (Investigation) Md. Mobarak Hossain Khan and Lal-Sabuj Unnayan Sangha founder and central committee president Kawsar Alam Sohel spoke.
 
Present at the time were Ragib Mahtab, Joint General Secretary of the organization's Debidwar branch, Mohiuddin Bin Jamal, Organizing Secretary, Relief and Disaster Affairs Secretary Farhad Sarkar.
 
 The central president of the organization administered the oath to keep students away from drugs, eve-teasing and juvenile crime. Kawsar Alam Sohel, founder of Lal Sabuj Unnayan Sangha, said that a 5-member delegation of the organization is on a Sylhet divisional tour. They will complete their activities in Sunamganj and Sylhet and hold programs in Srimangal and Habiganj. All members of the organization are school, college and university students. 
 
For the past 14 years, they have been saving their tiffin money and distributing saplings of various trees among students across the country to prevent drugs, eve-teasing, child marriage and greening.
