Shambhuganj Press Club celebrates its 6th anniversary

The 6th anniversary of Shambhuganj Press Club, located in Mymensingh Sadar, was celebrated through a discussion session and cake-cutting ceremony on Saturday.
The event marking the organization's step into its 7th year was held at the club’s office. The celebration was presided over by Md. Shadekul Islam, the convener of the celebration committee and the founding co-general secretary. The welcome speech was delivered by Muhammad Rayhan Uddin Sarkar, the founding general secretary.
In his welcome address, paying tribute to and reminiscing about the founding president, journalist Swapan Kumar Bhadra, who was killed in an attack, he said, “Shambhuganj Press Club is intertwined with the history of Mymensingh. On May 10, 2019, the club was formed with 31 journalist members from various upazilas.” He added that a newsletter will soon be published and distributed in various places. Additionally, as per the constitution, new members will be recruited, and a new committee will be formed for a three-year term in the first phase.
Present at the event were founding member and organizational secretary Md. Tofazzal Haque, founding members Md. Mozzamel Haque, Rezaul Hasan Sumon, journalists Md. Liton Miah, Habib, Aminul Haque Roman, Mahiuddin, S.N. Altu, Tapan Chakraborty, Bipul Sutradhar, Md. Ariful Islam Ujjwal, Zia Rahman, and others.
