Saving money on tiffin : Saplings distributed to students in Singra

Students of Lalo High School in Singra, Natore, saved money on tiffin and bought saplings and distributed them among their classmates.

The saplings were distributed on the school premises on Sunday (August 9) morning.

It is learnt that as per the decision of the readers of Lalo High School Library, a total of 50 taka is saved, 10 taka every day for five days of the week. With that saved money, the students' favorite Bakul flower and kathbadam tree saplings are collected and distributed.

The organizers said that the main objective of this initiative is to instill the habit of saving among students and also to highlight the importance of tree plantation to protect the environment. This program is creating awareness among students that it is possible to play a positive role for the environment even by saving a little money for tiffin.

The sapling distribution ceremony was attended by Lalor High School President Md. Rezaul Karim, Headmaster Md. Mahbub Alam, Entrepreneur and School Assistant Teacher (Library and Information Science) Abdul Matin, Victoria Public Library Natore General Secretary Altaf Hossain, Hatiandah Union Public Library General Secretary Advocate Baki Billah Rashidi, Education Affairs Secretary Md. Azadur Rahman, Natore TV journalist Mahbubur Rahman, Bangla TV journalist Mehedi Babu, Binod Bihari Chowdhury Library and Archives member Abdul Karim, along with teachers and students of the school.
