Rural development gains momentum led by LGED Chief Engineer Abdur Rashid Miah

The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), one of the largest engineering organizations in the country, had been significantly slowed down due to the lack of  skilled officer particularly head of the department. 
  The current Interim  Government appointed Md. Abdur Rashid Miah  as the Chief Engineer. Under his effective leadership, LGED has made a remarkable turnaround. LGED has played a significant role in building rural infrastructure. After the Chief Engineer took charge, everything changed. His extensive initiatives span from remote rural areas to the outskirts of cities. The scope of LGED is set to expand significantly, which will also transform the economic aspects of people's lives.

On February 4, 2025, this engineer joined as the Chief Engineer of LGED. Since taking office, he has formulated various plans to revitalize the rural economy through the development of rural road connectivity, markets, and growth centers. As a result, positive outcomes began to emerge quickly. His various initiatives have become visible.
  People in remote rural areas are now able to access paved roads within a maximum of two kilometers. These rural infrastructures will play a significant role in improving people's quality of life and alleviating poverty. He is also making special contributions to increasing agricultural and fisheries production. Md. Abdur Rashid Mia has earned a reputation as a talented, hardworking, skilled, and honest engineer.
