RU VC meets Pakistani HC to discuss academic collaboration

The High Commissioner of Pakistan to Bangladesh, Syed Ahmed Maroof, met with Rajshahi University (RU) Vice-Chancellor, Professor Saleh Hasan Naqib, on Wednesday to discuss academic collaboration.
The meeting, held at Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Administrative Building, focused on enhancing cooperation in higher education and research.
The High Commissioner highlighted that Pakistani institutions offer 300 scholarships for Bangladeshi educators and students, with RU set to benefit. He also mentioned ongoing initiatives to develop Urdu language and literature studies in Bangladesh. The Vice-Chancellor expressed interest in strengthening academic ties with Pakistani institutions, to which the High Commissioner pledged support, including visiting professors and rare academic resources.
As a gesture of goodwill, the Vice-Chancellor presented a commemorative gift, while the High Commissioner donated books to RU. The meeting was attended by officials from both RU and the Pakistani High Commission. Later, the High Commissioner visited the Varendra Research Museum.
