Administrative officials of Ramgarh Municipality have stepped into the field to evaluate the conditions of residents marooned by severe waterlogging caused by continuous heavy rainfall. To alleviate immediate suffering, the municipal authorities have initiated the distribution of dry food and emergency food assistance among the worst-hit families.
On Thursday afternoon, Ramgarh Pourashava Administrator Kazi Shamim personally inspected several rain-ravaged neighborhoods, including Sonaipool and Fenir Kul. During his field visit, he interacted directly with the affected residents to assess their grievances and handed over essential food packages to families struggling amid the inundated conditions.
Local sources reported that the relentless downpours over the last few days have submerged multiple low-lying sectors within the municipality, stranding numerous families and disrupting normal life. Low-income communities, in particular, are facing acute distress due to food shortages, severely disrupted communication networks, and difficulties in conducting daily livelihood activities.
Commenting on the administrative response, Kazi Shamim affirmed that standing by disaster-affected citizens remains the utmost responsibility and duty of the local administration. He stated that the overall situation is being monitored around the clock, reassuring residents that essential support operations will remain active and further assistance will be deployed based on evolving needs. Senior administrative officers, staff, and relevant local representatives of the Ramgarh Municipality were present during the inspection.
