Politicians supporting PR are public enemies: Momin Mahadi
Staff Correspondent
Chairman of Natundhara Bangladesh NDB, Momin Mahadi, said that politicians who support PR are public enemies. He stated that in the name of politics, they have turned into neo-dictators, depriving people of their rights to food and vote.
He made these remarks on Sunday at 5 p.m. at the inaugural session of the Grassroots Workers’ Training held at Bijoy Auditorium, Topkhana Road in the city.
Present at the event were Presidium Member and valiant freedom fighter Fazlul Haque, Senior Vice Chairman Shanta Farjana, Vice Chairman Chandan Sen Palash, and Law Affairs Secretary Advocate Shah Alam Al Shawon, among others.
At that time, Momin Mahadi further said: “The people of this country have always wanted two meals a day, the right to vote, and assurance of safety. No government has been able to ensure this, and the current government has also failed. Not only that, but after coming to power with promises of eliminating discrimination, they have created more divisions, dismantled the public security system, destroyed the students’ education system, and ruined economic stability. In such a situation, a movement has begun demanding the implementation of the anti-people PR electoral system, which is nothing less than cutting down the roots of a tree while pouring water on its top.”
He warned that if the government fails to overcome this situation—if it cannot stabilize commodity prices, prevent corruption, stop killings, rapes, and mob-terrorism—then a situation will arise where, like the Prime Minister of Nepal, they will be forced to flee hanging from a helicopter’s rope.
