Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will visit Rangpur tomorrow, Tuesday, October 20, 2026, on the occasion of the Sharadiya Durga Puja. According to the released itinerary, he will visit the 'Dharmasabha' (Radha Govinda Temple) Puja Mandap in the city and exchange greetings with members of the Hindu community.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to depart from Dhaka by air at 9:00 AM, heading for Saidpur Airport, where he is expected to arrive at 10:00 AM. From there, he will travel by road to Rangpur city. At 11:00 AM, he is slated to visit the Radha Govinda Temple Puja Mandap and interact with the Hindu community. A key objective of his visit is to convey a message of religious harmony and mutual goodwill.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister's upcoming visit has created a festive atmosphere in Rangpur. The city has been adorned with new decorations, extending from its various entry points to the heart of the city. The administration has stepped up security measures to ensure a smooth reception for the Prime Minister and to maintain law and order. Large billboards welcoming the Prime Minister have been installed along all major roads in Rangpur. BNP leaders and activists are working tirelessly—spending sleepless nights—in preparation for this visit, which marks the first trip to the region by their party leader—the Honorable Prime Minister of the Government of Bangladesh—since the election. Damaged roads are being repaired and extensive cleanup and construction work is underway throughout the city. Unfinished infrastructure projects across Rangpur are being completed through round-the-clock efforts. Furthermore, footpaths—from the city's entry points to the main urban area—have been cleared of encroachments, giving Rangpur city a fresh, transformed appearance.
