Plan for 10-storey building of Jamia Islamia Fazilatun Nisa Mahila Madrasa in Barishal passed: call for cooperation

After 18 months of relentless efforts, Barisal's traditional educational institution 'Jamia Islamia Fazilatun Nisa Lil Banat Mahila Madrasa' finally received plan approval. The initiative to construct a new multi-storey building has been taken as the existing five-storey building of this madrasa, located in Ward No. 29 of Barishal City Corporation, does not have enough space.
According to the madrasa authority, due to the continuous increase in the number of students and the shortage of space, a 14-storey building was initially applied for. The then City Corporation Administrator and then Divisional Commissioner Raihan Kausar included the proposal for the new building in the resolution considering the needs of the madrasa. Later, considering the width of the road and overall regulations, City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Bari approved the design (plan) of the 10-storey building.
After a long process, the plan for the multi-storey building was officially passed on August 30, 2026, and the approval letter was handed over at 12:00 noon on September 7, 2026 (Monday).
The madrasa authorities have expressed their deep gratitude to everyone who has cooperated in this complex approval process for the construction of the building. In particular, they have remembered the sincere contributions of former administrator Raihan Kausar, CEO Rezaul Bari, and Assistant Director (AD) of Fire Service Barisal, Selim, and all the officials concerned, and have expressed their prayers and best wishes for them.
The construction of the new 10-storey building of the madrasa is going to start soon. A lot of money is needed to complete this huge construction project of a religious institution. Therefore, the madrasa has made an urgent appeal to the wealthy and ordinary people for financial support as much as possible.
A request has been made to contact the principal of the madrasa directly to send any kind of financial donation or assistance for the construction of the new building.
