
PBGSI Scheme : Awards distributed among SSC, HSC meritorious students in Patharghata

An elaborate award distribution ceremony was held in Patharghata at 11 am on Thursday, under the “Performance-Based Grants for Secondary Institutions (PBGSI)” Ccheme in Upazila Parishad Conference Room, where meritorious students of SSC and HSC exams from 2022 and 2023 were awarded.
The ceremony was presided over by Patharghata UNO Md. Mizanur Rahman.
The chief guest was Dr. Nazmin Afroze, Associate Professor and Assistant Director, PBGS-I, SEDP. In her speech, she highlighted various government initiatives aimed at qualitative development in the education sector and described the Performance-Based Grants Scheme as a groundbreaking step
.Special guests were District Education Officer Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Upazila Education Officer Md. Munirul Islam, Assistant Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Barguna District Unit and President of Upazila Secondary Teachers’ Association Shamim Ahsan, Patharghata BNP Convenor Chowdhury Md. Faruk, Member Secretary M. Kamrul Islam, President of Patharghata Model Press Club and Amar Desh Patharghata Correspondent Md. Zakir Hossain Khan, General Secretary Md. Ziaul Islam, President of Patharghata Upazila Press Club Md. Abu Saleh Jasim, and General Secretary of Patharghata Press Club Muhammad Nazmul Haque Selim.
In his presidential speech, UNO Mizanur Rahman said, “Performance-based awards enhance teacher responsibility and help improve the learning environment. Addressing the students, he stated, ‘Success comes through a blend of talent and hard work. By utilizing your talents and maintaining consistency through diligence, you can become exemplary future leaders.’”
Heads of various educational institutions, teachers, guardians, and students actively participated in the event. At the end, guests handed over certificates and gifts to the award recipients. The program set an exemplary milestone in the educational advancement of Patharghata.
