One killed, 5 including child injured in Joypurhat road mishap

In a three-way collision involving a truck, a Massey tractor, and a battery-run autorickshaw in Joypurhat, autorickshaw driver Idris Ali was killed and five others, including a child, were injured at around midnight on Sunday near the Khajanpur Mission Eye Hospital area on the Joypurhat-Naogaon road.
The deceased autorickshaw driver Idris Ali (40) was the son of Ekram Ali from Adarsha Para in Joypurhat town.
The injured are Masud Hossain (53), Shamim Hossain (50), his wife Minu Akter (42), Naznin Akter (21), and her daughter, child Niha Akter (2), all from Bhadasa village in Sadar upazila.
According to police and local sources, the battery-operated autorickshaw was heading to Bhadasa Durgadah Bazar from Joypurhat town with five passengers including a child. A truck coming from the opposite direction hit the autorickshaw, causing it to spin out of control and get crushed. At that moment, the truck also hit a Massey tractor coming from the front. Autorickshaw driver Idris Ali died on the spot, and five passengers, including the child, were injured. Locals rescued the injured and admitted them to the 250-bed Joypurhat General Hospital. Two of the injured were in critical condition and were referred to Bogura Shaheed Zia Medical College and Hospital. Upon receiving the news, police seized the truck and the Massey tractor. However, the drivers and helpers of both the truck and the tractor fled the scene.
OC of Joypurhat Police Station Khondker Farid Hossain said that upon receiving news of the accident, police rushed to the scene and seized the truck and the Massey tractor. The autorickshaw was completely destroyed. The drivers and helpers of the truck and tractor were not found. Legal action will be taken as soon as a complaint is received.
