
Coast Guard sezized huge motor pulses while being smuggled to Myanmar
The Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized a large consignment of motor pulses (peas) while being smuggled to Myanmar in exchange for drugs.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque informed the matter in a press release on.Saturday
The press release stated that based on secret intelligence, in the early hours of 4 October 2025 (Saturday, around 3 a.m.), a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Station Hatia and Ramgati at Horni Tankir Khal area under Hatia Police Station, Noakhali. During the operation, a suspicious fishing boat was searched, and approximately 22,625 kilograms of motor pulses worth around 10,18,125 Taka were seized while being smuggled to Myanmar illegally, evading customs duties.
The press release added that upon sensing the presence of the Coast Guard, the smugglers managed to escape, so no one could be apprehended.
The seized goods are in the process of being handed over for legal action.
The officer further emphasized that the Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future to prevent smuggling.
