
One killed, 3 Injured in Narail over trivial dispute

In Narail’s Lohagara Upazila, a trivial dispute led to the death of a farmer named Token Mir (60), with three others injured in Lohagara Upazila on Wednesday evening in Karfa Charpara village, Mallikpur Union, Lohagara Upazila.
The deceased, Token Mir, was the son of the late Nawab Mir from Karfa village, Lohagara Upazila, and was engaged in agricultural work.
According to police and local sources, around 7:30 PM on Wednesday (May 7), a verbal altercation broke out between Ferdous Mir and his cousin Token Mir’s family in Karfa village over the use of a van. The dispute escalated into a physical clash. At one point, Ferdous Mir, Rizzak Mir, his son, and others attacked Token Mir’s house.
During the assault, the attackers used local weapons like ramda (a type of machete) and chhenda (a sharp weapon), severely injuring Token Mir, his wife, and sons Rubel and Raju Mir.
Local residents rescued the injured and took them to Lohagara Upazila Health Complex. As Token Mir’s condition deteriorated, he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital that night.
On Thursday (May 8) afternoon, Token Mir succumbed to his injuries while under treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Following the incident, Lohagara Thana police and leaders of the Upazila BNP visited the site in Karfa village. Lohagara Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ashikur Rahman stated that additional police have been deployed in the area, and efforts are underway to arrest those involved
