OC withdrawn after party  at AL leader's house

Noakhali's Senbagh Police Station OC  Md. Abdur Rahim Sarkar has been withdrawn and attached to the District Police Lines. Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Hazrat Ali Milon is on duty in his place.
 
Noakhali Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Ahmed Payar confirmed the matter on Sunday morning.
 
According to district police sources, questions have been raised about the role of the officer-in-charge of the police station in the incident of a procession of leaders and activists of the banned Awami League and its affiliates in the Battala Bazar area of Kabilpur Union of the upazila last Friday night. In addition, there have been allegations that the OC participated in a banquet organized at the house of Awami League leader and Chittagong businessman Shahjahan Khokon in Batania village of the upazila.
 
Senbagh Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Hazrat Ali Milon, who is in charge of the OC, said, "The OC left after being withdrawn on Saturday evening. However, we do not know the reason for the withdrawal." A case was filed at the police station on Saturday under the Anti-Terrorism Act over the procession of banned Awami League leaders and activists in the Battala area. Five leaders and activists of Chhatra League and Jubo League have been arrested in the case. An unknown 30 to 35 other people have been named as accused in the case.
 
Noakhali Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Ahmed Payar said, OC Abdur Rahim Sarkar has been withdrawn over an incident where he went to someone's house and ate a meal.
