A picture of Alauddin, the president of Ward No. 3 Awami League of Ashwadia Union in Noakhali Sadar Upazila, receiving the gold medal of the National Fisheries Medal from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has gone viral on social media. The picture has sparked widespread discussion in the local political arena.

In a picture circulating on social media, Alauddin is seen receiving a certificate and medal from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at a Fisheries Week event organized at the Mini Stadium ground in Katiadi Upazila of Kishoreganj. Several others were present at the event.

In various posts accompanying the photo, Alauddin has been introduced as the leader of Noakhali Sadar Upazila Awami League and the president of Ward No. 3 (Wapdapole) Awami League of Ashwadia Union. He has also been mentioned with the same political identity in various old social media posts found locally.

Ashwadia Union Awami League President Golam Hossain Bablu has confirmed Alauddin as the president of Ward No. 3 Awami League of Ashwadia Union in Sadar Upazila. However, the original document regarding the specific period of his tenure and the approval of the relevant committee has not been made public.

Meanwhile, Ashwadia Union BNP leader and former public representative Md. Abdur Rahim has claimed that there are allegations of torture, lawsuits, attacks and harassment against Alauddin by BNP leaders and activists.

According to the Department of Fisheries, Ala Uddin Fisheries is operating in Badarpur of Noakhali Sadar Upazila and Char Clark of Subarnachar Upazila. The company is playing a role in expanding fish farming as well as producing and supplying high-quality carp fry.

Sources said that in 2025, the company produced about 19.8 million carp fry using quality seeds in 21 ponds with a total water area of 17.6 hectares. At the same time, the farm has created full-time employment for 32 people and part-time employment for 63 people.

In recognition of its contribution to expansion, the government awarded Alauddin Fisheries the National Fisheries Award-2026 Gold Medal. At the same time, the company was given a bank check of Tk 50,000.
