Media orientation workshop on Typhoid Vaccination held in Gopalganj

A day-long consultation workshop on “Typhoid Vaccination” was held in Gopalganj on Wednesday organized by the District Information Office, Gopalganj, under the project “Awareness Campaign for the Development of Children, Adolescents, and Women”, with financial support from UNICEF.
The event took place at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Room.
The workshop was presided over by Deputy Commissioner and Joint Secretary Muhammad Kamruzzaman.
Special guests included Additional Superintendent of Police Ziaul Haque (representing the Superintendent of Police), Civil Surgeon Dr. Abu Said Md. Faruq, District Education Officer K. M. Ruhul Amin, and District Primary Education Officer Ms. Jyotsna Khatun.
The welcome speech was delivered by District Information Officer Md. Sulaiman.
Journalists from various print, online, and electronic media outlets across the district actively participated, making the session lively and interactive.
During the workshop, a video presentation on typhoid vaccine registration was screened. The speakers discussed the vital role of the media in dispelling misinformation and rumors about vaccination and emphasized the importance of accurate reporting to build public awareness.
In his address, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Kamruzzaman said, journalists have a crucial role in motivating the public to receive the typhoid vaccine. Spreading accurate information to raise awareness is now our primary goal.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Abu Said Md. Faruq answered various queries from journalists and sought their cooperation to ensure the success of the vaccination campaign.
It may be mentioned that from October 12 to November 13, the district-wide typhoid vaccination campaign will be conducted for all children aged 9 months to under 15 years, following prior registration.
