International Workers’ Day and National Occupational Health and Safety Day 2025 was  celebrated in Gopalganj with colorful rallies and a discussion meeting.The day’s events were jointly organized by the Gopalganj District Administration and the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments.On Thursday, a vibrant procession began at 10:00 AM from in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, parading through key streets of the town before concluding at the starting point. Following the rally, Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Muhammad Kamruzzaman officially inaugurated the day by releasing colorful balloons.A discussion meeting was then held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, themed on “Transparency.” Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Kamruzzaman delivered the keynote address as the chief guest. The event was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Golam Kabir, and moderated by Assistant Commissioner Shopoth Boiragi.Special guests included Civil Surgeon Dr. Abu Said Mohammad Faruq, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Sarowar Hossain, Additional District Magistrate S.M. Tarek Sultan, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer M. Rakibul Hasan, and Deputy Chief Inspector of Gopalganj’s Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments H.M. Shahadat, as well as senior journalist Mozammel Hossain Munna from Jamuna TV.Other speakers at the event included GM Md. Kutub Uddin from J.K. Polymer Industries, Quality Manager Badrul Islam Riaz from Urfi Apparel Ltd., and machine operator Rupa Khanam.
