M"bazar 250-bed Hospital RMO Dr Ahmed Faisal Zaman withdrawn
Md. Abdul Kayum, Moulvibazar
Dr. Ahmed Faisal Zaman, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of the Moulvibazar 250-Bed General Hospital, has been withdrawn from his position and transferred to Sreemangal Upazila Health Complex.
Dr. Zaman, a medicine specialist who took charge as RMO in 2019 replacing former RMO Dr. Palash Roy, had been serving in the same position for a long period. Speculation regarding his transfer had been circulating over the past few days.
According to an order signed on Wednesday by Director (Admin) Prof. Dr. Jalal Uddin Mohammad Rumi on behalf of the Director General of Health Services (DGHS), Dr. Zaman was withdrawn and directed to join his new workplace.
Under the directive, Dr. Ahmed Faisal Zaman has been assigned to Sreemangal Upazila Health Complex as the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer (UH&FPO).
Hospital sources confirmed that no replacement has yet been officially appointed by the ministry to fill the vacant RMO post.
Dr. Pronoy Kanti Das, Superintendent of Moulvibazar 250-Bed General Hospital, said, while transfers are part of routine administrative procedures, the hospital management will temporarily assign an acting RMO from among the existing medical officers until a formal ministry notification is issued. He added that the final selection for the acting role is yet to be finalized.
