Health State Minister calls for cardiac ambulance network to reduce heart disease deaths

State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. M. A. Muhit on Thursday called for the establishment of a cardiac ambulance network and ambulance pool initially centered around Dhaka and its neighboring districts to reduce mortality from heart disease.
The State Minister made the call while addressing a ceremony as chief guest at Popular Medical College Hospital in the capital, organized to mark World Heart Day and the first anniversary of the Popular Cath Lab. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Popular Group Dr. Mostafizur Rahman attended the program as a honored guest.
Emphasizing the critical concept of the "golden hour" for cardiac patients, Dr. Muhit suggested that a cardiac ambulance network could be launched as a private sector initiative covering Dhaka and at least five adjacent districts.
Dr. Muhit stated that strengthening emergency ambulance services aligns with the government's election manifesto commitments.
Chaired by Prof. Dr. A. K. M. Mohiuddin Bhuiyan Masum, the event was attended by Director General of Health Services Prof. Dr. Prabhat Chandra Biswas, Director General of Medical Education Prof. Dr. Nazmul Hossain, Additional Director General of Health Services Prof. Dr. Foyara Tasmim, and Assistant Personal Physician to the Prime Minister and Cardiologist Dr. A. N. M. Monwarul Kader Bitu as special guests.
