The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) has achieved visible progress in the development of rural infrastructure in Thakurgaon district. A new dimension has been added to the development of the district through the implementation of various development projects and proposals for new projects, including road, bridge, canal re-excavation, development of haat-bazar, construction of social infrastructure and tree plantation.

Led by District LGED Executive Engineer Mamun Biswas , various development activities in the district are progressing rapidly. Already, hundreds of kilometers of road development proposals, construction of important bridges, modernization of rural markets, canal re-excavation, development of religious and social institutions and extensive tree plantation programs are under implementation. Work on several important projects, including the re-excavation of the Chhota Singia-Goalpari canal in Baliadangi upazila, is underway.

Those concerned said that with the cooperation, guidance and development-friendly initiatives of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir , a significant number of projects and allocations have been confirmed for Thakurgaon. The district LGED is working sincerely to implement those projects.

LGED Executive Engineer Mamun Biswas said, "Since Thakurgaon is the local government minister's home district, we are making every effort to complete every development work here with the highest standards. Our main goal is sustainable development by ensuring proper use of public money."

He further said, "Many times, misleading posts are spread on social media about development activities without knowledge or based on incomplete information. Such campaigns without verifying the facts create confusion in the public mind. We are always working to ensure transparency and accountability by following the rules."

Mamun Biswas said, "The development of Thakurgaon district is my commitment. As long as I am in charge, I will work with honesty, dedication and sincerity for the welfare of the people of the district to the best of my ability."

Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila Engineer Mabud Hossain said, "Mr. Mamun Biswas, Executive Engineer of the District LGED, is a very prudent and far-sighted engineer. Due to his guidance, regular supervision and timely decisions, an environment has been created for the implementation of the district's development projects on time and in a quality manner. Under his leadership, we are working with utmost sincerity to ensure the quality of various development works including roads, bridges, culverts."

Baliadangi Upazila Engineer Mainul Islam said, "The leadership of Executive Engineer Mamun Biswas Sir is an inspiration for us. He gives utmost importance to transparency, accountability and quality in every project. With his advice and constant guidance, we are trying to implement development activities at the field level more efficiently. His sincerity, dedication and responsible leadership in the overall development of the district encourage us."

The ongoing development activities of the district LGED include hundreds of kilometers of road development, construction of important bridges and culverts, strengthening of border roads, last mile connectivity, rural market development, development of social and religious institutions, canal re-excavation and extensive tree plantation programs.

It is expected by the concerned that if these projects are successfully implemented, there will be more positive changes in the communication system, agriculture, economy and public services of Thakurgaon district and the development of the district will reach new heights.
