The fare of every train passing through Jamuna Rail Bridge is increasing. This decision will be effective from March 19, the day after the inauguration of the bridge on March 18.

According to railway sources, advance tickets for March 19 have been released online from March 9. There was an increase in the price of the ticket than the current price. Among these, the fare of Shobhan chair on Dhaka-Rajshahi route is from Tk 405 to Tk 450, Snigdha chair is Tk 771 to Tk 863, AC special seat is Tk 926 to Tk 1 thousand 35 and AC berth seat is Tk 1 thousand 386 to Tk 1 thousand 547. Besides, the fare of Banalata Express has also been increased.
It should be noted that the construction work of this dual gauge double track bridge over Jamuna River started on 29 November 2020. 16 thousand 780 crores have been spent on the construction of the bridge. The bridge will be inaugurated on March 18.
After this, trains will run through two lines. 2 trains can travel through this bridge simultaneously in the opposite direction or in the same direction. No train will have to wait for any other train and the speed of the train will also be normal. As a result, the travel time will be less than before.
