IEDCR exemplary model for maximizing limited resources thru' research: State Minister  Dr M A Muhit

State Minister for Health Dr. M A Muhit stated that the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) serves as an exemplary model for maximizing productivity and institutionfh?al capacity within limited national resources.

The State Minister made these remarks while addressing as chief guest the inaugural session of the "Bangladesh FETP Conference 2026," jointly organized by IEDCR and the Field Epidemiology Training Program, Bangladesh (FETP,B) at the IEDCR Auditorium in Mohakhali, Dhaka, on Sunday morning. The conference, themed "Strengthening Field Epidemiology Practice," was supported by SafetyNet, EMPHNET, UNICEF, and the US CDC.

He  highlighted IEDCR's contribution to building epidemiological capacity in Bangladesh, particularly praising the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP). M

Underscoring the necessity of developing skilled human resources among young researchers and academicians, Dr. Muhit referenced a recent meeting with the Prime Minister and the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA), identifying institutional coordination and strategic planning as key to utilizing limited public resources effectively. 

Presided over by IEDCR Director Dr. Kazi Ahmed Zaki, the session was addressed by Scientific Committee Chairman Dr. S.M. Baki Billah alongside representatives from collaborating international organization
