ICT Minister Anam urges youth empowerment thru' sports to honour Koko's legacy

Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology as well as Science and Technology Faqir Mahbub Anam Swapan highlighted the vital contributions of the late Arafat Rahman Koko to Bangladesh's cricket development, calling for his sports vision and ideals to be passed on to future generations.
Speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized by the Arafat Rahman Koko Sports Council at the National Press Club on Saturday to mark Koko's 57th birth anniversary, the minister urged utilizing the combined strength of sports and youth to build a healthy, united, and modern Bangladesh.
Highlighting Koko's selfless efforts as a sports organizer, the minister stated that Koko understood that achieving excellence in sports is essential for a nation to stand proud on the global stage. He noted that Koko's role laid the groundwork for the prominent position Bangladesh cricket holds on the international stage today.
"By harnessing sports, unity, and youth energy, we can build the advanced Bangladesh of tomorrow," Fakir Mahbub Anam Swapan remarked. He emphasized that along with technical and scientific education, sports are indispensable for physical and mental development. He urged the creation of a generation capable of leading globally in ICT and science while simultaneously bringing sports accolades to the nation.
Assuring full support from his ministry for initiatives aimed at preserving Koko's memory, the minister stressed the importance of joint efforts to realize Koko's dreams.
The discussion meeting was chaired by Saiful Islam Rasel, President of the Arafat Rahman Koko Sports Council, and attended by senior leaders of the organization alongside journalists.
