Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Abdul Halim, has said that there is no alternative to a united movement for implementing the July Charter and the verdict of the referendum. He stressed that the government must be compelled to honor and implement the people's mandate through a strong and united democratic movement.

He made these remarks while addressing a day-long educational workshop for district executive council members organized by Gaibandha District Jamaat-e-Islami on Friday.

The program was presided over by Gaibandha District Ameer and Member of Parliament Abdul Karim and moderated by Acting District Secretary Syed Rokonuzzaman.
Among others, speeches were delivered by MP and Freedom Fighter Abdul Wareth (Gaibandha-5), Professor Majedur Rahman (Gaibandha-2), and Maulana Nazrul Islam Lebu (Gaibandha-3).
In his keynote address, Maulana Abdul Halim alleged that nearly 70 percent of the people support the implementation of the referendum verdict, but efforts are being made by the BNP to undermine and disregard that public mandate. He called upon party leaders and activists to raise public awareness and mobilize people in favor of implementing the referendum outcome.

The workshop also featured thematic discussions presented by Principal Maulana Momtaz Uddin, a member of Jamaat-e-Islami’s Central Executive Council and Assistant Director of the Rangpur-Dinajpur Region.

Other speakers included former District Ameer Dr. Abdur Rahim Sarkar, District Shura and Executive Council Member Maulana Khairul Amin, Assistant District Secretary Faisal Kabi Rana, and several other district leaders.
