Fourth grade girl raped in Kotalipara

A fourth grade school girl has been allegedly raped in Kotalipara upazila in Gopalganj.
The schoolgirl's mother filed a case against one person at the Gopalganj District Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal on Monday.
The incident took place in Machartara village of Kandi union of the upazila last Saturday.
According to the case, the schoolgirl's mother and father left the schoolgirl at home and went to work in the field last Saturday (January 25). Taking this opportunity, Suresh Pandey's son Shankar Pandey (23) of Machartara village entered the house, locked the door and forcibly raped the schoolgirl. When the rape victim fell ill, her parents went to a local homeopath for treatment.
The father of the school girl said that after this incident, the UP members of the area, Mahabub Molla and Babu Dafadar, assured me not to file a case saying that they would resolve the matter through arbitration. But even after a few days, they did not provide me with any solution to this incident. Due to which our case was delayed. In this incident, I want punishment for the scoundrel Shankar Pandey. UP member Mahabub Molla said, after hearing about this incident, I went to their house. However, I did not assure them of resolving this incident.
No one was found when I went to Shankar Pandey's house to inquire about this matter. Kotalipara Police Station OC Md. Abul Kalam Azad said, we have not received any case copy from the court so far in this incident. Further action will be taken after receiving the case copy.
