Fisherman's human chain in protest of pond excavation of Andasura Beel in Naogaon

Fishermen and locals have protested to illegally excavate the pond on the leased land of Andasura Beel, the traditional, natural beauty of Manda upazila of Naogaon.
A humanitarian program was held on Wednesday at around 5pm under the banner of the locals. More than 500 people from different classes and professions participated in the human chain.
The speakers said that the fishermen of at least five villages, including Durgapur and Khagra, of Varshon Union of Naogaon Manda Upazila, are living in Andasura Bill.
Feroz, the leaseholder of Chapainawabganj district, broke the lease policy and his manager, Rinku Andasura Bill Lease, was conducting a festive festival of pond.
Recently, two acres (10 bighas) of the bill were occupied by two people named Rinku, his manager, Rinku.
As a result, the fish will be widely hampered by the farming of the bills and the fishermen of some villages will not be able to hunt fish in the future.
They also said that the pond excavation will disrupt the fishing or hunting of several hundred bighas of land.
Abdullah Al Mamun, Joint Secretary of Varshon Union Jubo Dal, Siddique Hossain, former president of Manda Upazila, Alauddin, fisheries party president Nurul Islam and general secretary Abdul Alim spoke on the human chain.
Manda UNO Md.Shah Alam Mia said, changing the class of land of Andasura Bill and excavation of ponds include breaking his condition. Without any administrative approval, the pond excavation is being reported, the operation is being carried out.
It is to be mentioned that the fishermen and locals claim that the illegal pond excavation in the Andasura Bill will not be stopped if the strict program will be taken will be taken against the leaseholder Firoz and the landlord Rinku.
