The 21st Deputy Commissioner's Cup Football Tournament-2025 has started at Chandpur Stadium. Chandpur District Sports Association Convener and Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mohsin Uddin inaugurated it on Monday  afternoon.

Matlab Dakshin and Faridganj Upazila Sports Association participated in the inaugural match. Faridganj Upazila Sports Association won the match with Matlab Dakshin by 2-1 goals.

During the inauguration of the tournament, the Deputy Commissioner said in his speech, we want to bring back the lost tradition of Chandpur through sports. Our journey has begun through this tournament. We will also organize football tournaments through big events in the future.

He also said, we think this tournament is a tournament for all the clubs in this district. Those who will play in this tournament will represent those clubs in different places. The clubs nurse the players nicely. We will organize various events and games regularly.

Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdur Rakib, PPM and Chandpur Municipality Administrator Md. Golam Zakaria were present as special guests at the inaugural ceremony.

Chandpur Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ershad Uddin presided over the inaugural ceremony, which was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Abdul Hannan Rony, District BNP General Secretary Advocate Salimullah Salim, District Jamaat Secretary Advocate Shahjahan Mia, District Sports Officer Afazuddin, Clean Chandpur Founder and Sports Organizer Adv. Nurul Amin Khan Akash, Chandpur District NCP Chief Coordinator Mahbub Alam, Chandpur Television Journalist Forum President Riyad Ferdous, Sports Organizer Hasan Al Zayed, Chandpur Photojournalist Association President and Sports Journalist Adv. Yasin Arafat Ikram and various Upazila Executive Officers and sports organizers.

On the occasion of the tournament, the 8 upazilas of Chandpur were divided into two groups. Group A included Shahrasti, Hajiganj, Matlab South and Kachua Upazila Sports Associations and Group B included the football teams of Chandpur Sadar, Matlab North, Faridganj and Haimchar Upazila Sports Associations.
