Mizanur Rahman, Kurigram
Even after the ten-day Eid-ul-Azha holiday in Kurigram, top officials of various departments did not arrive on time. Although 2 to 4 employees were present in some departments, they were busy with hugs and Eid discussions.
Even though the sirs said they were coming to the office, the chair in the office of Harunur Rashid, the executive engineer of the Public Health Department, was empty at 10:15 am. In this regard, the estimator of the Public Health Department, Moniruzzaman, said that the sir's house is in Jamalpur and will be on a side in Chilmari.
Even though the executive engineer was called, it was not possible to contact him.
When the officials and employees present at the office did not give a specific statement, the journalists went to the Roads and Towns Department.
Upon visiting there too, it was found that the same CHA executive engineer was not sitting in his chair.
Even when third and fourth class employees come, they are reluctant to talk about their sirs in front of the camera.
At 10:30 AM, we went to the Upazila Engineering Department and found that the lock was hanging there. An SO had not yet arrived at the engineering room. Although we met one or two employees, they were engrossed in the story.
Then at 10:32 a.m., I went to the Upazila Project Implementation Officer's office and saw a lock hanging in the room.
When asked about this to Bazlur Rushid, office assistant cum computer operator of the OA department, he said, "You can see where I am present. What do I have to say?"
Then the Fisheries Officer's Office, then
The clock strikes 10:38 and the lock is still hanging in the room.
After climbing the stairs, I first went to the Kurigram Sadar Upazila Education Officer's office at 10:42 am and saw a lock hanging in the room.
Then, at 10:44 AM, I went to the Upazila Social Services Office and found the same situation.
Even though the employees of the department introduced themselves as journalists, they immediately sat down. Some said that Sir is on leave, while others said that Sir has gone to the child welfare family and will be back a little later. When I called Habibur Rahman, the social service officer of the department, on his cell phone, he said that I am at the district office.
When the clock struck 11:20 am, as soon as I entered the Public Works Department, I saw the SO and SD's rooms, their cars locked. When the journalist went to the Public Works Executive Engineer's office to talk to him, the Executive Engineer said that the SO might be on the sidelines and that the correct information would be obtained by searching. On the other hand,
When this correspondent visited District Food Controller's office, Acting Food Controller Mohammad Hamidul Haque and oother employees were absent.
The district food controller said, "I have sent the accountant Yusuf out for a while, the others are coming."
The absence of important officials in Kurigram district is worrying the people of the district.
Conscious citizens of Kurigram district are making various comments on this matter.
Adv Ahsan Habib Nilu, Convener of the Conscious Citizens Committee, said this is the first time government officials and employees have received a long leave. Their absence even on the first day is tantamount to incompetence in building a new Bangladesh.
Kurigram Development Forum Convener K.M. Ataur Rahman Biplob said that there has been a call for change in the country, but those who looted in the past with ease are still in power. All those demanding a new state must unite against these irregularities.
The new children of the sun must be regularly looked after so that bureaucrats cannot play with the new freedom mixed with blood.
In this regard, S.M. Noor Ershad Siddiqui, a member of the Higher Council of the People's Rights Council and Advocate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, said that our July mass uprising is for honesty, integrity and justice. These irregularities in the new era, the patriotic public will not accept this.
Dr. Atiq Mujahid, Joint Convener of the NCP central committee said, this absence was impossible. We have driven out Awami League, we are angry because of the irregularities and corruption of the bureaucrats,
Even after achieving success, we cannot accept those irregularities. Our party, NCP, will stand on the streets with proper evidence.
If we find irregularities in such officials and employees in the new Bangladesh, we will launch a massive movement.
Despite such statements by current responsible officials, political leaders are bursting with laughter.
Even though the beneficiaries are happy because of the bureaucrats, the general public is very unhappy.
The district residents demand a proper investigation and punitive action against these responsible officials.
Kurigram Deputy Commissioner Nusrat Sultana was called several times in this regard, but she did not answer the phone.
