Eid reunion held , Pahela Baishak celebrated at DIU

Dhaka International University (DIU) hosted a day-long event at its playground to celebrate Eid Reunion, Chaitra Sankranti, and Pohela Baishakh with a vibrant fair and a captivating cultural program.
The festivities began at 11:00 AM with a joyful rally, attended by teachers, students, and university staff. At 12:00 PM, the university’s Cultural Club was officially inaugurated by Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. The event was graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr. Zahidul Islam, as the chief guest.
Other notable attendees included Dr. Muhammad Shahidul Kadir Patwary, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Adv Shahed Kamal Patwary, Member of the Board; Prof Selim Bhuiya, Advisor to the Business Administration Department; Prof Ganesh Chandra Saha; Registrar Prof Md. Rafiqul Islam; Prof Dr. ATM Mahbubur Rahman; and Proctor Prof Dr. Sajjad Hossain, among others.
The fair featured 87 stalls showcasing the rich diversity of traditional Bengali products. From 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, artists from the newly formed Cultural Club enthralled the audience with musical performances. The evening culminated at 5:30 PM with a captivating band performance by the group “Shironamhin,” delighting attendees with their music.
