BNP Joint Secretary General and MP from Narsingdi-1 Sadar constituency Khairul Kabir Khokon said, "We want to cherish the literary and cultural heritage of Narsingdi. We want to develop our native culture. Therefore, we should avoid foreign culture and embrace our native culture, agriculture and culture and present it to this generation." To present that literature and culture, all of us - from the administration to social workers and politicians - must come forward in this way. Because how developed a nation is depends largely on how developed the culture of that country is.

He made these remarks while attending the Nazrul Barsho event organized by the district administration and the District Shilpakala Academy at Narsingdi Shilpakala Academy on Monday afternoon as the chief guest at the ceremony to distribute cheques for donations to Nazrul in the monsoon season and to cultural personalities and cultural institutions in the district for the 2025-26 financial year.

Seeing the poor condition and dirty environment of the District Shilpakala Academy, he further said, "During the last 17 years, during the fascist government, they were actually busy looting. They did not do any work to reform the country. They did not do anything for the welfare of the people.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sajeeb Shahreen and Narsingdi Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Asma Jahan Sarkar were present as special guests at this cultural and donation check distribution ceremony organized under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Abu Taher Md. Shamsuzjan. District Cultural Officer Runa Laila was under the overall supervision.

At the check distribution ceremony, checks worth 9 lakh 88 thousand 250 taka were distributed among 59 cultural personalities of the district and checks worth 3 lakh 80 thousand taka were distributed among 8 cultural organizations of the district.
