Driver of ambulance carrying body killed in collision with passenger bus in Rupganj

Amir Hossain, the driver of an ambulance carrying a body, was killed when a passenger bus hit him in the Mahna area of the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Rupganj, Narayanganj. At that time, 5 people, including Habibullah, Achma and Rubia, who were in the ambulance, were injured. The accident occurred in front of a factory called Mahna Cordial Design on the road in the early hours of Wednesday.
The deceased driver, Amir Hossain, is the son of Nurul Haque, a resident of the Pachak area under Naria police station in Shariatpur.
Bhulta Highway Police Camp Officer-in-Charge Md. Jahanur Ali said that at around 3:30 am, the body of Nabi Hossain from Moshair area of Ashuganj was being taken to Ashuganj by ambulance from Dhaka Medical Hospital. When it reached in front of a factory called Cordial Design in Mahna area of Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Rupganj, a passenger bus of Shyamoli Paribahan going to Sylhet overtook the ambulance and hit it hard. The ambulance was twisted and twisted. The driver Amir Hossain died on the spot. Five people, including Habibullah, Achma and Rubia, who were in the ambulance, were injured. On receiving the information, the police recovered the body of the deceased from the spot. The body of Nabi Hossain, who was in the ambulance, was taken by his relatives. The injured have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Shirina Akhter, the wife of the deceased driver Amir Hossain, has filed a complaint with Rupganj Police Station in this incident. The body has been sent to the Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
