Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan emphasized on reducing the distance between industry and academia for the sake of the country and said that due to blind party politics, the country's educational institutions and industries have been damaged and a distance has been created between industry and academia.
Therefore, the institutions must come out of the net of party politics and strengthen them. Today, Tuesday at the Leather Engineering and Technology Institute auditorium, Inspiring Youth Career For Leather, Footwear and Leather Goods Industries He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar titled "Leather Engineering and Technologist Society" jointly organized by Bangladesh Leather Engineering and Technologist Society and Renaissance.
The event was presided over by Prof Dr. Mohammad Kamruzzaman, Director of the Leather Engineering and Technology Institute, and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin ) Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr. Mamun Ahmed were present as special guests. Chairmen, CEOs, Managing Directors and other senior officials of various leather and footwear industries participated in the seminar.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan emphasized on modernizing the curriculum by harmonizing practical education with higher education and said that it is important to formulate the curriculum according to the needs of industrial institutions.
He emphasized on making the internship program for students conducted in various industries more effective. The Vice-Chancellor suggested increasing mutual communication and regular exchange of views to improve industry-academia relations.
