
Coast Guard provides medical assistance to pregnant woman on passenger launch
The Coast Guard has provided necessary medical assistance to a pregnant woman on a passenger launch on Tuesday noon.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq gave this information in a press release.
The press release said that on Monday, a pregnant woman started her journey from Bhola to Dhaka by a passenger launch named “Mitali-7” for advanced treatment on Tuesday at midnight (12:00 am), when the launch reached the area adjacent to Harinaghat, the pregnant woman began to suffer from breathing difficulties, which posed a life risk. Immediately, a close relative of the patient called the Coast Guard emergency service number 16111 and sought assistance.
Based on the received information, a medical team from Coast Guard Station Chandpur promptly went to the launch by high-speed boat with an oxygen cylinder. Afterwards, the medical team provided oxygen to the woman and ensured her safe transfer to Sadarghat.
The press release further said that the Coast Guard will continue this continuity in the service of the people in the future as well.
