Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon confirmed the humanitarian initiative on Thursday noon, highlighting that the force regularly extends support to vulnerable coastal communities alongside its primary maritime security duties.
Under the management of Coast Guard East Zone, personnel aboard Coast Guard Ship (CGS) Tajuddin conducted the distribution drive from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, providing dry rations and necessary relief items directly to marginalized households across the island.
The Bangladesh Coast Guard will sustain its humanitarian assistance programs to support residents in remote and coastal regions during difficult times, the press release added.
