Child dies after drowning in Pirgacha

A two-year-old child named Nur Islam died after drowning in a hole near his house in Pirgachha, Rangpur.
The accident occurred on Sunday morning in the Uttar Dadan area of Kandi Union of the upazila. The deceased child is the son of Rubel Mia of that area. Such a tragic incident has cast a shadow of grief over the area. Eyewitnesses said that child Nur Islam was playing in front of his house. While playing, the child fell into the hole near his house. Later, after searching, the family members rescued him floating in the hole in a dangerous condition and took him to Pirgachha Upazila Health Complex Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared the child dead.
Confirming the incident, Pirgachha Police Inspector (Investigation) Nahid Hossain said, "We have received the news of the child's death. He died after falling into the hole near his house." The matter is distressing, and a UD case has been filed at Pirgachha Police Station.
