The 48th founding anniversary of the BNP was celebrated in Bogura through various programs including paying homage, prayer mahfil, tree plantation, releasing fish fry and a colourful procession. These day-long programs were inaugurated by hoisting the national and party flags on Tuesday morning.

In the morning, Bogra-6 (Sadar) constituency MP and District BNP President Rezaul Karim Badsha hoisted the party flag at the district BNP office on Nababbari Road in the city. Bogra-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) constituency MP and District BNP Acting General Secretary Alhaj Mosharraf Hossain and former General Secretary Ali Azgar Talukder Hena and local leaders were present at the time. After hoisting the flag, the leaders paid tribute by placing flowers at the portrait of martyred President Ziaur Rahman.

As part of the social program, saplings were distributed and trees were planted among the students at the premises of Sakharia Alim Madrasa in Bogra Sadar Upazila at 10 am. Later, at 11 am, the guests released fish fry in a water body in Sakharia Danga area.

A special prayer meeting was organized at Bogra Baitur Rahman Central Jame Mosque after Zohr in the afternoon. In this, the souls of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, late Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and Arafat Rahman Koko, as well as the deceased members of the Zia family were prayed for. At the same time, special prayers were conducted for the long life and good health of BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council member Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu, Bogra City Administrator MR Islam Swadhin, District Council Administrator AKM Ahsanul Tayyab Zakir, BNP Central Executive Committee member VP Saiful Islam, Joynal Abedin Chan, District BNP Vice President Maftun Ahmed Khan Rubel, District Jubo Dal General Secretary Abu Hasan and District Chhatra Dal President Habibur Rashid Sandhan, along with leaders and activists of the party's organs and associate organizations, were present at the prayer mahfil.

As part of the day-long celebrations, a friendly football tournament was held at the city's Altafunnesa playground in the afternoon under the initiative of the district Chhatra Dal. In addition, the Metropolitan BNP and the Bogra Sadar Upazila BNP took out separate processions and rallies from Shaheed Khokon Park to the Matidali Airport intersection. In addition, the day was celebrated in every upazila of the district through day-long discussions and colorful processions.
