Abu Taleb (55), an Office Assistant of Araihazar Upazila Food Department in Narayanganj, was killed in a road accident on Thursday afternoon.
He was the son of the deceased Yakub of Chhota Binairchar Bilpara area of Brahmandi Union of the upazila. He was on his way from his home to Rupganj on a motorcycle when he was hit by a truck in the Pakistani Mill area of the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway.
Relatives of the deceased said that his Honda was crushed by the freight truck and Abu Taleb was seriously injured and was taken to the nearby US Bangla Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
The killer truck and the truck driver could not be arrested.
The body of the deceased was at the US-Bangla Hospital till the time of writing this report.
