Anti-drug rally held by HIDA on Int'l Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Barishal

An anti-drug rally was held on Friday at 9.30 am in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office with the theme 'the World Drug Problem, Chronic Problem, New Challenges and Inaugural Response ' in Barishal
On this occasion, a colourful procession was taken out in the city by the members of the social organization Human Resources, Environment Development Organization, HIDA and Development for United Training Community Health Organization.
After the rally, a discussion meeting on drugs was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner. First, the Quran was recited and the Bhagavad Gita was recited. After the recitation, there was a discussion on drug abuse, trafficking, drug consumption, etc. by school and college students. The Honorable Additional Divisional Commissioner of Barishal, Ahsan Habib, was present as the chief guest in the discussion. AZM Mustafizur Rahman, Superintendent of Police, Barisal, spoke as the special guest. Mr. Paritosh Kumar Kundu, Additional Director of the Narcotics Control Department, spoke as the special guest.
The program was moderated by Mr. Md. Tanvir Hossain Khan. Finally, the chairman of the discussion meeting was Mr. Md. Khairul Alam Sumon, Deputy Commissioner of Barisal and learned District Magistrate. In addition, the discussion meeting was also attended by the Director of Barisal Islamic Foundation, Director of Barisal Fire Brigade, leaders of various social organizations, journalists, esteemed leaders, and social organizations, Human Resources and Environmental Development Organization HIDA and Development for United Training Community Health Dutch Organization Executive Director Mr. Kazi Wahid Murad, Bureau Chief of Dainik Bhorer Akash and Vice President of the organization Md. Masud Rana, Executive Members Md. Saiful Islam Md. Babul Hawlader and Mohammad Rasheduzzaman Obi.
After the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the District Commissioner.
"In addition to the administration, every family must be aware of drug smuggling and abuse. Parents must keep a close watch on who their children are associating with and where they are spending their time."
At the end of the discussion meeting, prizes were distributed among the winners of the drawing and writing competition for children and adolescents organized to mark the day.
