Md Mujibur Rahman Patwary 

Md. Abdul Rahim Khan, an illustrated son  of Chandpur, is currently serving as Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, heading its Labour Wing.

Prior to his current assignment, Khan served as Additional Secretary (Export Wing) in the Ministry of Commerce. Concurrently, he was appointed Administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the apex trade body in the country, on October 27, 2025, officially assuming charge on November 2, 2025 to oversee organizational governance and election proceedings.

A member of the 1995 batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS Administration Cadre), Khan spent his initial two decades serving in various field administration positions across upazilas, districts, and divisional headquarters.

His subsequent postings in central administration include Cantonment Executive Officer for the Dhaka Cantonment Board, Deputy Secretary and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles and Jute and Ministry of Commerce, and Director General of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Authority under the Prime Minister's Office. Following the retirement of Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh on December 31, 2024, Khan temporarily discharged the routine duties of Commerce Secretary. He also held additional charge as Vice Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) in August 2025.

Khan completed his primary education at Hasan Ali Primary School, HSC at Chandpur Government College, and earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Economics from Dhaka University in 1990 and 1991, respectively. He later obtained an MSc in Public Economic Management and Finance from the University of Birmingham, UK, in 2005.

 Recognized as a financial management specialist, he contributed significantly to strengthening Bangladesh's Medium Term Budget Framework (MTBF) and program budgeting systems.
