75 Bangladeshi Muslims, 3 Indian Muslims forcibly who were  pushed In by Indian authorities have been  rescued by Coast Guard from Mandarbaria Char in Sundarbans

 Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-ur-Rashid provided this information in a press release on Tuesdsy. 

He stated that in the early hours of May 9, 2025, Indian authorities forcibly pushed in 75 Bangladeshi Muslims and 3 Indian Muslims to Mandarbaria Char in the Sundarbans. Most of them had been living in Gujarat, India for a long time and were engaged in various professions.

During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that on the night of April 26, 2025, Indian administration arrested them from their homes, and on May 9, 2025, early in the morning, Indian authorities secretly left them at Mandarbaria Char.

Later, the individuals took shelter at the Mandarbaria Forest Office. Upon being informed by the forest office, the Bangladesh Coast Guard (West Zone) promptly rescued the 78 push-in victims on May 10, 2025, and provided them with essential food and medicine.

The pushed-in individuals further stated that Indian police raided their slums and bulldozed them. They were subjected to inhumane torture in front of their family members, who were also brutally assaulted. They were then blindfolded and transported to different locations via separate military aircrafts. Later, Indian authorities dropped them off at a remote area in the Sundarbans by ship. While on the ship, they faced physical torture, inhumane treatment, religiously offensive remarks, and were not provided with necessary food. To this day, they are unaware of the whereabouts of their wives and children.

He further stated that the rescued individuals were handed over to Satkhira Shyamnagar Police Station on May 11, 2025, for further legal procedures.
