20 injured in clash over smoking in Hajiganj

A clash broke out between residents of two wards after microphone announcement over smoking at Hajiganj in Chandpur leaving at least 20 people injured.The clash took place on Tuesday between residents of Randhunimura Paschim Para and Purba Para in the upazila. The clash lasted from 10-12 am.According to eyewitness sources, a junior boy lit a cigarette in front of his senior on Monday afternoon. They had an argument over the incident. There was pent-up anger between residents of the two wards over the issue. They got into a clash on Tuesday over the incident. At least 20 people were injured in the incident.Hajiganj Police Station OC Mohammad Mohiuddin Faruk said, currently, the situation is under control. Legal action has been taken in this regard.
